What is Reiki?
Our body lives from the continuous flow of energy within. When we don’t feel well, it means that there is a blockage somewhere that is breaking the flow. This blockage results in us being stressed out, anxious and tense; eventually causing harm to our body and mind.
Reiki Healing is an alternative medicine therapy that transfers energy through the palms of the hands to remove that blockage and re-instate the balance in our body, ultimately healing our physical, emotional and mental disorders.
How is Reiki Healing performed?
After concentrating and visualizing the ailment, a Reiki healer utilizes blowing air in conjunction with light tapping and touching techniques, to transfer positive energy that heals. No medication and no equipment are involved.
The healer performs hand gestures over the body, on the body, or from a distance in a number of positions, each held for three to ten minutes. The whole treatment usually lasts between an hour and an hour and a half.

What are the indications of Reiki?
Reiki is extremely safe and should have no long term side-effects. However, sometimes the process of the body healing after being subjected to balancing energy forces results in the release of toxins, which can cause some discomfort for around 48 hours. You should do relaxing things, eat well and drink a lot of water.

Can anyone become a Reiki healer?
Apparently, you don’t need any previous healing or meditation to learn Reiki. All you have to do is follow a one or two day class where a teacher will transfer onto you the ability to perform Reiki, something called attunement. You can then heal yourself as well as others.
