What is Lymphatic Drainage? Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle rhythmic, pumping movement that follows the direction of lymph flow in the skin. It results in reducing swelling and water retention, removing toxins and improving metabolism.
The lymphatic system is composed of lymph vessels, nodes and organs. As part of the body’s defence system, the lymph nodes filter bacteria and other impurities from the blood. These nodes are sometimes blocked by toxins and cause certain pain and congestion. Lymphatic Drainage Massage reactivates their function and encourages good circulation and cell regeneration. By applying manual pressure on certain points of the body and sometimes using machines, this massage leads to detoxification (getting rid of toxins, the bad stuff in our bodies), as well as help with healing and improving the immune system.
A course of 6 treatments, 2 sessions per week, will give good results while a regular session per week is great therapy for people with water retention problems.
