What is Chromotherapy? Chromotherapy (therapy of coloured light), is a concept that refers to the effects that different coloured light have on your skin tissues. It is believed that the colours of the rainbow treat different skin problems when absorbed by the skin. Depending on the wavelength and the frequency of each colour of light, which are measured by a nanometer (nm), a specific coloured light will treat wrinkles, pigmentation, loose or inflamed muscles, blood circulation, swelling, water retention, spider veins, stretch marks and even cellulite.
Red: between 780nm and 622 nm.
Orange: between 622nm and 597nm.
Yellow: between 597nm and 577nm.
Green: between 577nm and 492nm.
Blue: between 492nm and 455nm.
Violet: between 455nm and 390nm.
How does Chromotherapy work? Chromotherapy works to re-establish the proper functioning of our body’s organs. To accomplish this, the procedure focuses the corresponding light to the targeted skin area. This application of light can be made by the use of coloured light bulbs, coloured lenses or crystals. It could also be made by the new ground breaking LED light technology. Colour light therapy helps the body boost its own natural healing ability.
How often can or should one receive Chromotherapy treatment? Although this is not a definite answer, five sessions are recommended as treatment: two the first week, two the second week, then one the week after.
A maintenance plan is also suggested after the treatment is completed and its regularity depends on your lifestyle.
