Surgical Procedures Incisions are made to extract excess fat and remove excess skin and glandular tissues. Liposuction can be used in coordination with excision apparatus in case both fat and excess skin are to be removed, if fats were the sole factor then liposuction would be sufficient.
Important to know is that the techniques depend mainly on the person’s health condition, breast composition and person preferences regarding desired size.
Step1: Anesthesia
Either intravenous sedation or general anesthesia can be administered though that depends on the recommendations given by the surgeon.
Step2: Incision can be:
-
A circular pattern incision surrounding the Areola, usually visible and permanent though concealable under a bra
-
A keyhole shaped incision around the areola and down to the crease
-
An anchor shaped incision
Step3: Tissue removal or displacement
Nipple is repositioned, areola is diminished if necessary and underlying tissues are reduced, lifted and shaped to gain the best look, in some cases where the breast are over grown and the areola and nipples are greatly out of position then a free nipple graft method is implemented where the nipple is transplanted again.
Step4: Incision closure
Layered sutures are placed deep inside the breast tissues to support the new shape, and other sutures and skin adhesives are applied to close the skin, the lines resulting from the surgery are permanent though in most cases it shall fade or gradually improve.
Step5: Obtained results
Immediate results can be noticed and obtained despite that at first the results can be obscured due to swelling and lines from the surgery though as a person recovers the results will improve and clarify.
